Maintaining an eco-friendly abode is a day-to-day challenge that involves more than just remembering to recycle! Take our quiz to see if you’re truly living life in the green lane.

1. 1. What do you use to clean surface areas?

   • Regular cleaning products and a whole roll of paper towels for each room
   • An all-purpose cleaner with a sponge
   • A towel and your own homemade cleaning solution

2. 2. How do you get rid of your waste?

   • I pitch everything in the trash can
   • I do my part by recycling what I can and taking the rest out for trash day
   • I compost in the backyard, recycle the rest and repurpose whatever I can

3. 3. Describe your H2O habits:

   • I sink into indulgent bubble baths at least twice a week
   • I take speedy morning showers
   • I limit showering to a few times a week and turn off the faucet while brushing my teeth and washing my face

4. 4. What temperature do you have your water heater set at?

   • 140 F
   • 130 F
   • 120 F

5. 5. What do you do with plastic bags from the grocery store?

   • I destroy all evidence, delivering the bags to the dumpster personally!
   • I stash them in the closet with the other bags. They’re rarely used, but maybe one day they’ll come in handy.
   • I use them to store old magazines, cut them up for eco-friendly wrapping paper and reuse them as small wastebasket liners.

6. 6. When do you turn your thermostat down?

   • I never turn it down -- I like it balmy, even in the middle of winter
   • When I leave the house
   • Before leaving the house and before going to sleep

7. 7. How often do you change your water filter?

   • Once a year
   • Every three months
   • Every month when it’s in high usage
